5 Shout AMEN!Amen ~ 1 PrayingPraying

Comments: Yea, and all who will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution 2 Tim 3:12. Praise God for His very great and precious promises. In this world we will have tribulation, but He has overcome the world.
The tide has turned squarely against Christianity even in our formerly Christian nation. I am thankful for the promise that one day He will break through the clouds to take us out of this world. Even if we are called on to lay down our lives for the Gospel, this life is fleeting, and the suffering only temporary, but the crown of life is eternal. We are investing for eternity.

Until I read this I thought my own grasp of the extent Christian persecution was pretty good but once again you've outdone yourself with the depth of your knowledge and insight Wendy!!!

2 Shout AMEN!Amen ~ PrayingPraying

Comments: The faith and endurance of Christians through the ages is humbling. It's nearly our turn as our country takes in increasing numbers of Muslims, not remembering history or even knowing it in the first place. Well, I think Trump knows but is thwarted at every turn.

Just a note on the pearl parable and the other 2 in Matt. 13. I believe the pearl is the church, and not Israel. The merchant sorted through many pearls and when he found a perfect one, he sold all he had to buy it (Jesus gave His life for the church). You interestingly pointed out that it comes from an unclean animal (gentiles); the man who found treasure in a field went and sold all he had to buy it (again, Jesus gave His life for the church); the net that was cast into the sea and all kinds fish were caught, then the fishermen sat down and sorted through and tossed the bad and kept the good (many are called, but few are chosen).

This is a sobering and timely article.

I STRONGLY disagree Grace . . . I believe "the pearl of great price" is none other than Jesus Himself!!!

Comments: Carolee, how does that work when you didn't pay for Him nor did you give everything you have to possess Him? In fact, there's nothing you could give Him. So why do you think He's the pearl, the treasure and the good fish instead of the elect? Who's the fisherman? You?
