What The OL Means To Me
''Because of the Omega Letter, I have grown in my relationship with my Lord''
Thursday, October 20, 2011
When I was a boy, my father would come home from work and turn on the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. Since that time many years ago, I have maintained a strong interest in the news and current events, especially in light of prophecy.
I am not sure of the exact date, but it had to be eight or nine years ago when, through one of the news sites I checked each morning I came across a link to The Omega Letter. I may have even been introduced to the OL by Hal Lindsey, whose web site, Hal Lindsey's Oracle, was included in my Favorites List.
From the very first time I read The Omega Letter, I was hooked, captivated by the revelation of God's Word and clear explanations of the intricacies of the Bible. Wow! I had found a site that provided real spiritual meat!
I have grown tremendously from the hundreds of Daily Briefings I have read since then and have never missed reading one since that first day. More often than not, there was an "Aha!" moment at the end of the Briefings that shined a light on the relationships between the people and events and mysteries of the Bible. Those I printed out as trophies of the magnificence and power of God's inspired and Holy Word. What a great God that He would give us such a book, the Bible!
I am thankful that Jack has been so blessed by the Holy Spirit that he is able to research, compose and publish the Omega Letter on a daily basis.
I find that simply amazing, but recognize that as a power and gift originating from God. If I may borrow a few comments I offered to Jack on his birthday, I am grateful beyond words that God has set him in the church as our teacher to show us a more excellent way (1 Cor. 12:28-31).
You have spoken boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 6:19).
For the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, our Lord God has given you gifts of apostleship, prophecy and evangelism, to be a pastor and teacher (Ephesians 4:11-12).
You are our Philip, providing clarity and insight to the Word of God as was done to the Ethiopian who asked for guidance in understanding Scripture (Acts 8:26-39). Thank you, Jack.
I have shared many of the over 3,000 Daily Briefings with others, friends and family, believers and non-believers alike, to stimulate interest in the truths God has laid before us and to bolster them with facts, evidence and reason.
No sooner do I finish reading one day's Briefing than I am looking forward to the next morning when another one appears in my mail waiting to be opened that will lead me on a new spiritual adventure.
Because of the Omega Letter, I have grown in my relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, who I have a deeper desire to know and serve.
My reverence for God has increased through new found knowledge and the prophetic insights contained within the Briefings. I have grown bolder in my willingness and eagerness to share the Gospel with others in the hope that they, too, will find sustenance in His Word. When once I was reluctant, I am now ready and better equipped to share the promises of God with others so that they might find hope in this life for what awaits them in the next IF they will submit to a loving and just God. My spirit has matured, touched by the mercies of God, nourished by so many of the things I have read in the Omega Letter.
I have been privileged to meet so many new and dear friends through the OL, both in the Forums and on a trip-of-a-lifetime to Israel, where so many of the places and characters and events of the Bible became much more vivid and real. How can one not cry at the spot where Peter denied his friend, Jesus? Or feel exalted at the Garden Tomb where Jesus emerged alive after three days? Or to look up in amazement after being baptized in the Jordan River awakened by the realization that near that very spot, the skies had once opened up over Jesus, the Holy Spirit descended and God spoke saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased"?
These are just some of the many blessings that have so enriched me through the Omega Letter and as the news and politics and current events continue to unfold, prophecy is proved true over and over.
We truly live in exciting times. We know what we have to look forward to because God's Word is true. The comfort that can be found in God's Word has, in large part, come from the inspiration of the Omega Letter and I am encouraged each time I look up, hopeful for the sound of a trumpet and the call of God to come up hither. It's all been foretold and is what He said He would do!
Happy, happy 10th anniversary, Omega Letter!
Your grateful friend in Christ,
